At one point in its length, the Klar River that runs through the city of Karlstad splits to form a 300-meter-long cape; from the air it appears as the pointed beak of a bird. The cape is a powerful landscape, a place of considerable drama, and the site of Sandgrund Park (Sandgrundsparken).

The Dania Park is a waterfront park, located along the edge of the Öresund strait which divides Sweden and Denmark. The park is one main feature of the transformation of the former Western Harbour, an industrial area along the coast in Malmö. This is one of the most ambitious city transformations of brownfield in urban areas that has taken place in Sweden. The site used to be a barren landfill; all flat; an industrial desert of contaminated mud. Qualities from the existing site were initially hard to identify for the designers but eventually there stood out aspects of a more ephemeral kind: the light, the horizon, the long views, the sky, the wind, the sea. It is a place for climate and seasons. Rough waves and hard finds can be experienced here, as well as spectacular sunsets and lazy sunny summer´s days.

In front of the entrance of the recently opened University of Textile & Fashion in Borås, Sweden, there is a carpet of stone. The carpet is 110 meters long and 11 meters wide. The pattern of the carpet is inspired by a weaving method for complicated patterns; the so-called Jacquard technique, introduced 1805 by Joseph-Marie Jacquard and thus belonging to the legacy of general textile history. The carpet is laid out in three different types of granite and forms the hallmark for this new school and its campus. It is also the main public space for the school, openly programmed with the possibility of a lively social life. A series of box-shaped benches mark the central line of the carpet; for sitting or as podiums for display of students work. The carpet and its furniture underline the metaphor with the runways of the fashion industry.
