A Wooden Outline that Embraces the City – Located near Kanda Myojin Shrine in central Tokyo, this project sits on a narrow 5.2m x 14.5m lot facing the historic Nakasendo route, with a direct view of the iconic Yushima Seido. In this dense urban environment, surrounded by similarly tall buildings, the design focuses on how to softly blur the building's outline within the cityscape rather than assert dominance.

A home for a couple, nestled in the heart of the city – Situated in a densely populated residential area, the north-facing property stands quietly amid the urban fabric, enclosed on three sides by neighboring properties. Created with spatial limits both in plan and cross-section in mind, the design embraces vertical continuity, creating a fluid and expansive living space.

On the first floor of a building along Nakamachi Street, near the Kichijoji Station – this is where the first branch of the soymilk specialty store, “Tototo & Soymilk” is located. This soymilk store is a new business for the client, and they researched and investigated the soymilk production process. After repeated investigations into adjusting the taste, they produced smooth and delicious soymilks while keeping the original taste of the soybeans in the soymilks.

This is a renovation for our own apartment in Kanagawa. .8 (TENHACHI) Architect & Interior design reconfigured the layout of the 67-square-meter property, creating one big open space with two open box spaces. The concrete ceiling and beams are left exposed throughout, contrasting with the white walls and furniture doors that have been added. None of the walls reach the ceiling, which allows us to see that the new infill pieces are different from the structure of the original concrete.

This is a house for a young couple who have just married. I (architect)am a childhood friend of wife and a member of husband’s lab in graduate school. I am very glad to design their house, and would like to make the house very comfortable for their new marriage life. The site has narrow property, only 43 square meters. A convenient commute into the city was their top priority, the house is located at a quiet residential area in the center of Tokyo district Japan. The house volume is maximum size which is subjected to height restrictions by Japanese architectural regulation. As a result, its owns only three-and-a-half-meter-wide, and flanked on either side by existing residential buildings.
