This social housing project addresses economic, bioclimatic, topographic, sustainable, and aesthetic needs. It is currently built in Apan, Hidalgo, within the Housing Laboratories (Laboratorio de Materiales), but its design specifically targeted the region of Xalisco, Nayarit, where it was originally intended to be built.

A pair of two-story houses that are exceptionally efficient in terms of energy, due to the use of natural light as well as rainfall. They are located on a couple of adjacent lots that are also very steep, which is ideal for achieving the best views of the Valle de Bravo Lake from the top floors.

Damian is found within the Arts District of Los Angeles, California. This zone currently holds an outstanding number of repurposed industrial warehouses, which have brought new businesses, such as art galleries, workshops, restaurants, and coffee shops, preserving the neighborhood’s essence; having become a hot spot for the culinary culture, filled with art on every corner, displaying buildings with beautiful brick walls, as well as factories and warehouses built at the beginning of the 20^th century.

Zacatecas Building / Taller ADG

The building is located on Zacatecas 3, on the corner of Cuauhtémoc Ave., in the Roma neighborhood. The area is considered a part of the city heritage because of a number of artistically valuable constructions in it. Architectural emphasis is achieved through an 8-story volume on the Cuauhtémoc façade, giving the building hierarchy within this main avenue. On the contrary, the building drops its profile on the Zacatecas façade, to better suit this street’s character. The building houses 46 studios with a two-bedroom option. From a distance, the building seems to be elevated on pillars; from the street, part of the foundation is visible, along with vegetation and lighting. Above the ground floor the building’s façade features travertine and syncopated windows.

Family home developed across a whole story in a former industrial lab building, under the loft typology. The residence had a mezzanine added in, taking advantage of the ceiling heights to accommodate additional space for bedrooms. The project’s distinguishing feature is its family room/staircase, meaning the stairs and landing that make up a living room with a home theatre, reading and resting spaces. The apartment also has also an outdoor space, which was treated as a patio with a pizza oven, and a grill integrated within the landscape design.

Buna Sartoría Restaurant and Coffee Shop / Taller ADG

The project provides a solution for two adjacent commercial spaces, separate but sharing access, foyer and services. Buna is a coffee shop, and Sartoria is one of the best Italian restaurant in the city by the chef Marco Carboni. The main idea was to create a vault that provided a sensation of warmth reminiscent of old Italian trattorias. This is the guiding design principle for Sartoria. Buna’s space is solved by tilting the vault shape, generating a curved wall that provides a sense of continuity in such a small space. A play of arches that form the personalities for two different concepts.

Un Cuarto Mas Extension / Taller ADG

This project is about extending and improving the houses whose original composition has a single bedroom; these houses are overcrowded, generating situations of violence and tension, especially against women. With the construction of this additional room we will be protecting them, thereby generating a condition of well-being and prosperity for half of the population. In order to reduce overcrowding in houses, the INFONAVIT, implemented the "Un Cuarto Más" (“One More Room”) strategy, which aims to benefit more than two million people in urban areas of Mexico. The main objective of this strategy is the development of prototypes that offer solutions of efficiency in cost, time and extension.

"Diablos Rojos" Alfredo Harp Helú Stadium / FGP Atelier + Taller ADG

Designed by Mexican-born architects Francisco Gonzalez Pulido and Alonso de Garay, of Chicago-based FGP Atelier, and Taller ADG based in Ciudad de México; the Alfredo Harp Helú stadium is the country’s largest baseball facility to date with 20,000 seats—a drastic difference from its home team’s previous home, the 5,200-seat Estadio Fray Nano. A baseball aficionado, part team owner, and renowned Mexican businessman and philanthropist, Helú commisioned De Garay, who invited González Pulido to collaboratee, to design a world-class facility replete with all of the services and amenities for its team and its followers, but with the grander intention of reinvigorating the sport in Mexico and fostering a sense of community and culture.
