Set within a landscape of tropical abundance and cultural depth, the project honors the identity of Quang Nam Province — a place where nature, history, and craftsmanship coexist in harmony.
T3 ARCHITECTS and KANOPÉA Architecture Studio designed this tropical villa in Ho Tram, located in the South of Vietnam, following the principles of bioclimatic architecture. Our client wanted a secondary residence to spend time with family in the beautiful Vietnamese countryside, away from the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City. Therefore, T3’s objective was to create a single-story villa surrounded by greenery that would be functional, enjoyable to live in, and completely open to the garden.

T3 ARCHITECTS and KANOPÉA Architecture Studio designed this weekend's Villa with a truly Sustainable approach tailor-made for Tropical conditions: hot weather, heavy rains, wind (as we are close to the sea), insects, and other wildlife… With the existing site being partially covered by a forest, the T3 Team decided to locate the Villa under the trees (to get shadow and thermal comfort) but have the main facade on the forest’s line to get a very nice view of the tropical garden and pool.

T3 Architects designed the first “The Cocoa Project” in Saigon, a friendly and airy space bringing together sustainable architecture and sustainably sourced cacao trace chocolate. The main design intention of T3 Team was to recover the existing modernist Villa from the 50s and give it a second life dedicated to the Cocoa & Pastry. A place for Vietnamese, to reconnect with their heritage and to realize the quality of their cocoa produced in the Mekong Delta. This elegant villa was totally invisible when we started the design, as decades of ugly industrial finishing materials were covering all walls, ceilings, and facades.

The project started with a good mix of cultures: " Dojo " is the Japanese name of the building which means that the building will be built with a certain of Japanese traditional rules for the right practice of Judo. Then, the Dojo is located in the garden of an old French style Villa, and all this together in the dynamic city of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.
