Casa Melhado is located in a gated community in the city of Estância Velha, in the Vale dos Sinos region. Its layout on a 16x25-meter lot was guided by legal regulations and the program of requirements, which called for two courtyards so that the house could open up to its interior. The design fosters a dialogue between outdoor and indoor spaces, creating a feeling of being outside while being inside—a solution made particularly feasible by its location within a gated community.
