The bridge, which is situated between small villages Usti and Cernotin, is a part of the bicycle path Becva connecting the cities of Karlovice and Tovacov. The elevation of the bridge, which perpendicularly crosses the River Becva, is in a crest curve with a radius of 1 705 m, and the tangents are in the longitudinal slope of 5.26%. The width between the railings is 3.50 m. Concurrently with the bridge construction, widening of the river bed solving flood problems, was also performed.

The pedestrian and cyclist bridge, which is situated between the city’s historic center and town suburb ‘Zálabí’, connects cycling and pedestrian trails running along both banks of the river. Since it is located near a historic arch bridge, it is also formed by an arch structure, but it has a longer span and it has no supports in the river. The bridge structure consists of two outwardly inclined steel arches, on which a bridge deck from prestressed concrete is suspended. The rise of the arches was chosen so that in the predominant part the arches are situated above the heads of pedestrians, and thus do not obstruct their clear view of the historic city and, at the same time, it does not obscure the view of the historic bridge to people walking along the river.

The bridge connects pedestrian and cyclist trails situated along both banks of the River Nitra in a city of the same name. Due to local constraints the bridge structure with a very slender deck was required. Also, any load bearing members, such as pylons and cables, situated beyond the sidewalks were not allowed. Therefore, an economical tied arch structure, which represents a most logical solution, has been chosen. To allow an un-disturbing view of a historic centre of the city, the rise of the arches is as small as possible. To open the space and to invite using the bridge, the deck is suspended on outwards inclined arch ribs. In this way the river bridging received a modern, dynamic appearance.
