The new 9,000 SF, $3,000,000 Zuckerman Museum of Art has consolidated collections that were previously spread out across the campus of Kennesaw State University into a facility that includes gallery space for permanent collection and temporary exhibitions as well collection storage, staff offices, and support facilities. Kennesaw State University envisioned its museum as a cultural resource not only for the campus community but for the greater Atlanta area as well – the latter being something of a new undertaking for the school. Thus, it was essential that the building make a bold architectural statement, and serve as a landmark for visitors. The university leadership also explicitly sought a structure to contrast with and enliven the subdued design of the overwhelmingly beige and red brick existing campus.

Nemours Children’s Hospital, situated in the Lake Nona Medical City mixed-use development in Orlando, Florida, has set a new design standard. Led by architect Stanley Beaman & Sears, the new hospital and grounds are a testament to the term “healing environment” - evoking a life-affirming quality sure to reassure parents and delight children. The project’s architectural solution arose out of a collaboration with Nemours’ many stakeholders, including practitioners, administrators, and a family advisory committee of parents and children.

Adamsville Regional Health Center / Stanley Beaman & Sears

This 34,000-square-foot regional health facility located in an under-served neighborhood in southwest Atlanta combines under one roof a primary care clinic, a behavioral health clinic, childcare facilities, a dental clinic and a workforce community center. In doing so, it projects a holistic idea of wellness and a positive self-image for a challenged community. The building is also meant as a catalyst for future growth in the area.
