The Swiss brand On, a performance running shoe company, recently expanded their office space to
accommodate their growing workforce. Specific Generic and Spillmann Echsle Arkitekten was asked to
design a functional, flexible and attractive work environment that communicates the brand's values, all
designs have been executed in close collaboration with the On in-house team.

The small irregularly shaped lot is framed by the existing retaining walls towards the lower street.  The shape of the building itself is defined both by building laws as well as the small size of the lot. The six room new construction comprises an attic storey, two main floors and an underground garage.  The formal architectural vocabulary is very direct, authentic and of an unadorned precision.

The production hall located at the entry to the Trümpler area was built in the eighties and was used as a film studio in recent years. Now it is to be subdivided into small and easily lettable units. A high flexibility in use, both horizontally as well as vertically, is an absolute must and accordingly the floor elements and partition elements are required to be easily mountable and demountable.

The 300 sqm single family house lies on a slope at the edge of the village of Üsslingen in the Canton Thurgau. It is a prefabricated timber construction on a pre-cast concrete basement. The positioning of the building itself results from the topographical conditions.
