services. Their previous office was at the heart of Bangkok’s business district and after a long period of
paying the costly rental prices in an office building, they decided that it was time to build their own headquarters. During the time that tech industries are the leader in moving towards a paperless working environment, online working and cloud storage have proven that work can be done from anywhere. This new concept has challenged traditional office space design and utilization.

Ladprao 80 House is a 150 square meter 2-story residence belonging to a newlywed couple, located amidst the hustle and bustle of central Bangkok, it neighbours a dense housing community and an industrial area of factories and warehouses. Because of the existing urban landscape, the architect’s main design challenge is to create a comfortable and private living space for the young couple within a limited budget of approximately 3 million Thai Baht.

Overlooking a scenic landscape near the foot of the mountain, this house was stretched from north to south across the plot to let the view soak into every room and defined the private garden and swimming pool to the west and parking area with a small garden to the east of the house. The first floor consists of an open living space with a pantry area on one end and a guest room on the other. Upon the second floor is the private part of the house with two bedrooms connected by an open-air living area in the middle.

Buddhanimit Temple, located in a rural community in Udon Thani, Thailand, is a temple school that provides free education for families who are unable to afford public education. Due to increasing number of students enrolled as novice monks, an extension dormitory building is required. The original brief of the project calls for a two-storey dormitory building under a donated 6 million baht (EUR.154,000) budget. After thorough site inspections and workshops with monks and novices, the architects proposed an economical scheme to renovate an existing abandoned classroom building on site into a dormitory. This leaves enough money to provide additional library and washroom for the novice monks. Novice Living Quarters intends to produce a design that is environmental friendly, respective to context, and contributing to the novice monks’ ways of living.
