The spaces we created were designed for leisure and moments of rest. Unveiling the landscape toward the Atlantic Ocean, with a panoramic view of the Cagarras Islands archipelago, the location determined the concept of the project.

The project, developed on a lengthwise axis occupied by the gallery, bets on the rational layout of the environments and on the transparency of the edges, allowing the occupation by internal gardens, natural light fluidity, ventilation, and the use of the spaces by the users.

Originally consisting of an existing construction divided in two blocks, the project’s scope encompassed the creation of a space to house an art studio along with the artist’s archive, as well as social and leisure areas. The production studio was structured on the block towards the back, which fulfilled the necessary functions.

Within the project’s lot lays an original Oscar Niemeyer house, it is compact given the metropolitan location. Through the acquisition of the next-door property, the resulting intervention and expansion allowed the transformation of the urban landscape, which welcomed a garden marked by vertical and horizontal delineations of its surroundings. A new leisure annex was constructed over an expressive plane that extends, as if hovering, between the pool and garden.

The location of the land within a privileged landscape was the determining factor for the implementation of this project. The construction concept was to land over plateaus and develop over axes of paths which were determined by the project’s program. Divided into specific areas, the architecture scheme consisted of open and plentiful spaces, oriented to the amplest view. Characterized by spacious galleries, the main central axes are bathed with natural light and receives ventilation through the pivoting doors.

The concept of the annex derived from its purpose, to serve as an extension and house a large collection of books. The architecture design emerges through axes of pathways which are determined by the use of its space, in an expressive floating horizontal plane.

The implementation of this project was determined by the property’s privileged landscape, located on Brazil’s Emerald Coast. Its main entry access is given through vertical circulation in natural stone, set about a historic fig tree. The construction concept entailslanding over a plateau and developing across axis of pathways established by the project’s sectorization.Divided into specific areas, the architectural program delineates open spaces oriented to the amplest view. A pivoting wooden totem with asymbolic graphic schemewarmly welcomes home both owner and guests through the main central axis.
