Chalet SBS / Silvia Acar Arquitetura

Located near Pedra do Baú, the main tourist spot in the municipality of São Bento do Sapucaí, the chalet SBS was designed to function as a guesthouse. The house located on a top of a mountain, near the border between the state of São Paulo and Minas Gerais, with a wide view of the region. The construction was conceived as two volumes of equal dimensions that support a unique light roof, and which are crossed - and joined - by a balcony that extends towards the slope and the astonishing view, forming a viewpoint that extends to the horizon. One of the volumes houses a living room and kitchen, in addition to a laundry/technical area, which is accessed by a deck located at the back of the building. Theother one, a bedroom and a bathroom with two doors, for access both through the bedroom, and by the balcony, also serving people who eventually occupy the room.

Chalet L / Silvia Acar Arquitetura

The chalet L was designed to be just a room, a transparent refuge in the forest. For creating the feeling of being surrounded by the treetops, the refuge was raised from the ground, creating a space under it, where it is possible to do outside activities. There is also space on arrival to put boots and coats. Inside, a desk, sink, and a built-in nightstand creating a small refuge. The chalet area l is 6.25 m²

The proposal of the cabin, chalet m, in São Lourenço da Serra, was to make the smallest area possible for the requested program, so that the contact with nature is the main actor on the experience. As minimalism was the main intention of the clients, in addition to the difficulty of access to the land, It was proposed a solution of 18m ² with use of dry materials and on-site assembly, since there is no access for larger trucks.
