Conceived as the main residence for a family in a condominium in the metropolitan region of São Paulo, Float House stands out for its privileged location: a corner plot on a flat street in the highest part of the condominium. The residence offers a wide panoramic view, and the large garden terrace on the upper floor complements the complex by providing a space for contemplation for the three suites. The architecture was conceived with the idea of creating a neutral and visually minimalist building. The building's planes serve as a support for the projection of sunlight, shadows from the trees, and reflections from the water mirror and swimming pool, establishing a sensory object that is closely linked to its surroundings. Based on the coexistence of opposites, the proposal reveals the duality between stability and suspension, weight and lightness, opacity, and transparency. By exploring the physical and visual capacities of matter, the poetry of construction manifests itself through the subtle substances of architecture: the constructed object is the supporting player in the composition, while the immaterial takes center stage.

The residence was built on a flat plot of 500m2, 10m x 50m, of a condominium with views to a Golf Course located in the city of Itu, 100km from the Capital of São Paulo. The housing program was distributed in 2 independent blocks whose tectonics identify each sector of the house according to its uses. The architectural expression comes from the duality between these volumes that are constantly related; one opposing each other, sometimes integrating their spatialities.

The lot has 3.200m2, with 60 meters of front, with a difference of 8.00 m from one side to the other. Due to customers' demands, an elderly couple with 4 children, the building would have to be eminently single storey and with all the accessibility standards observed (ramp, elevator, accessibility bars in bathrooms, etc). The main functions of the house - social, leisure and intimate - are distributed in a single prismatic volume that fits subtly to the terrain, without touching directly on the ground, through metallic pillars.
