The compact building for hybrid use of the SMG Church Complex is located on the edge of the urban fabric of the northern expansion of San Sebastián de los Reyes, in Madrid, responding to two very different realities, on the one hand, the park of the valley, where It shows the physiognomy of the parish temple, generating a volume that is measured by neighboring commercial facilities, large commercial and leisure containers; and on the other hand, the urban fabric of the residential city to which it exposes its program of classrooms and houses with a rhythm and proportion of holes that resembles it with the collective housing buildings that it faces.

The initial idea is to provide a closer architecture, almost family, in the composition of spaces as well as in the treatment of light and texture that provides the ceramic skin. The materiality of this building is linked from the beginning to the argument of the project process. Ground floor is projected as a threshold space compressed by the building itself in its upper floors. We can say that the building’s project is the ceramic enclosure of their classrooms that hangs over the city map. This basic approach results from the structural solution adopted by this project based on the study of the section: a roof truss, containing the two upper floors of classrooms and departments, supported by two lines of brackets, saving a long distance, under which common areas are developed in continuity with the outside landscaped terraces and protected by a powerful cantilever.

Factories for the manufacture of foodstuffs and pharmaceutical products give rise to production processes sharing common areas in certain cases. This project has therefore been developed to identify these common points and combine them; to organize traffic patterns in order to merge them into spatial areas and structure the functional project in three levels within a single building.

The project, called administratively "Rehabilitation of the Old School Square Minor of Archidona " located in the Plaza Ochavada and the street San José combines two distinct types of intervention, consisting on one hand, in acting on the heritage building that gives face to the square consisting primarily of a conceptual redefinition of its functioning and enhancer of its structural features and, at the same time, the approach of a new building facing the street frontage of the Street San Jose with its own capacity and specificity.
