The design had two main goals: to fully embrace the magnificent view of Lake Inari in the north, and to be affordable. To keep costs down, I arranged all the essential spaces as tightly as possible around a double height living area. With what was left of our bank loan, we managed to build 50 square meters of living space.

The villa integrates the landscape and surrounding nature into daily life. The nature-formed main space is carefully tuned to reflect the landscape beyond the glass walls. Combined with a colour scheme that creates visual connections to the surroundings, this design makes it possible to live as part of the landscape.

A Fishermen’s Village. On a seashore, between pine trees, a house consists of three little, seemingly separate buildings. Their facade is wood, burned to char, and their pitched roofs a light green color. Towards the street, there are very few windows, a garage, and the front door hidden in a corner between the two slightly larger masses. The area is a peaceful end of a road, with sparsely scattered houses, surrounded by pine trees leading up to the front of Swan Beach, as the locals call it.

It can be used as an accommodation or workspace with amazing views of its surroundings and to the sky. The unit is delivered ready to use to the plot where it is installed on foundations built according to the manufacturer's instructions and connected to infrastructure.
