In addition to the organic connection of the interior with the exterior, the horizontal form, and the subtlety in the terrain, the materials chosen are an interesting feature of the family house called "Zasadený" (Slovak for "embedded"). It is built on the authenticity of natural materials, their serene coloration, durability, and graceful aging. The green roof of the building seamlessly merges with the surrounding terrain.

The Banánka family house responds to its natural surroundings through a raw and honest use of natural materials, a restrained horizontal form, and the clarity of minimalist design. Living here is defined by a seamless connection between the interior and the outdoors, primarily achieved through large glazed walls that stretch along significant portions of the house. This connection can be fully opened by sliding the glass façade between the central living hall, the terrace, and the garden area with a pond—something that's not just a design gesture, but frequently used throughout the extended summer season. This allows the melancholic atmosphere of the rock garden, flowing stream, pond, and tall surrounding trees to flow right into the interior.

A family house named K2 was built in the village of Kyncelova near Banska Bystrica. On the neighbouring site, there is a house called “Dom Zlomu” which was also designed by our studio. The K2 House is occupied by an elderly couple whilst the neighbouring house which was built earlier is occupied by their children and grandchildren. Multiple generations can thus enjoy privacy of their own living space whilst sharing common external areas. While designing the K2 House, the aim was not to create a supplement to an earlier built construction but a fully-fledged house with an independent and tailored concept.

Recently completed Phoenix Zeppelin building functions as the company´s national corporate headquarters as well as its local branch in Banska Bystrica region. The main business of the client is in sales, servicing and renting of construction machinery and equipment. The building accommodates and integrates such diverse uses as offices-administration centre and services-repair centre with warehousing and technical areas located between them. The presence of the busy four-lane road adjoining the site and the requirement of the client to externally showcase the machines they sell, repair and hire were the main starting points of the design process.
