The 3,500 sq. ft. home is located in Redondo Beach, one block from the Pacific Ocean. The simple massing is accentuated by articulated openings, situated and designed to frame views of the surrounding mountains and ocean. The geometry used to create the system of apertures continues throughout the interior. Surfaces of pattern and openings define zones of circulation and living spaces.

The 2200 sq. ft. residence is located on a severe hillside site in Malibu overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The project is an extensive remodel of an existing post-and-beam home in need of a structural, programmatic and environmental upgrade. The residence is re-envisioned for the 21st century.

La Brea Affordable Housing / Patrick Tighe + John V. Mutlow

The La Brea Affordable Housing project is a mixed use affordable housing project for formerly homeless LGBT youth, people living with disabilities and people living with HIV Aids. The 50,000 sq ft building is located one block north of Santa Monica Boulevard in the City of West Hollywood. The building maximizes density while allowing for ample outdoor space. 32 apartments are arranged around a shared exterior courtyard.

The 3,200 sq ft residence is located in the Crestwood Hills neighborhood of Brentwood, California, a post war development of modest mid-century homes. The project consists of the rebuilding of an existing building with a new second story wing. The new architecture compliments the existing residence and builds upon the original intentions of Quincy Jones and the other pioneers of this progressive neighborhood.

Trahan Ranch / Patrick Tighe Architecture

The project is a residential compound situated in the heart of Texas hill country. The 3,200 square foot residence is on a fourteen acre sloped site with native oaks, natural springs and unobstructed views. The layout of the house is a direct response to the site conditions.
