The building is located at Rua Palmira, 14, in the parish of Anjos, Lisbon. Built in the early 20th century for residential use, it sits on a rectangular plot measuring 298 square meters, with a building footprint of 190 square meters and a backyard. It is 21.40 meters deep and has a variable width of 10.10 and 5.85 meters. The structure consists of three floors, an uninhabited attic, and a basement. The alteration works aim to adapt the building to the functional logic of a hotel, specifically focusing on the essential relationship between the guest rooms and the service and support areas, which requires an efficient resolution of circulations between these spaces.

At the end of 2020, Orgânica, the studio led by architect Paulo Serôdio Lopes, completed the restoration and rehabilitation of the Chemical Treatment Plant, the Crushing Plant, and the Footbridge at the former Urgeiriça uranium mines in Canas de Senhorim, in the municipality of Nelas, Portugal.

Orgânica architecture office has just completed the rehabilitation of two semi-detached houses in Calçada dos Mestres neighborhood, facing ‘Águas Livres’, Lisbon 18th century aqueduct. The original neighborhood was a social development of mid twentieth century. These streets have no name, their names are still merely numerical.

On the site we found ruins of a house waiting to be recovered. We preserved the limit walls and we designed an exterior space, allowing the new house to emerge from the old.
