At 29 rue Nollet in Paris (17th arrondissement), for the Régie Immobilière de la Ville de Paris (RIVP), the client, the architectural firm NZI Architectes (Sandra de Giorgio, Gianluca Gaudenzi) completed in December 2025 the conversion of an obsolete car park into a social housing residence comprising 83 units. Gross floor area: 2,450.1 sq m.

The Constructive Choice. To reduce the impact of the construction sector, it is important to review our construction methodology and take advantage of techniques using less energy. In this way, we proposed to rehabilitate this office building by filling it with prefabricated wood panels with bio-sourced insulation such as straw. At a lower cost, the project uses a rapid construction technique. Insulation made of straw is a natural and high-performance material.

Wood & Straw, an innovative and responsible constructive choice. Straw insulation is a natural material: it is a material healthy, durable (experiments show straw houses dating back nearly 100 years) and powerful (we get resistances of the order of 9 W / m².K - compare to 5 W / m².k traditionally for walls properly isolated).By opting for the construction of wood & straw, biosourced construction is favored, which limits the use of unsustainable resources.

Keeping Promises
Our role consisted in the development of the project following the meetings (Design Workshops) with the inhabitants which were held once every two weeks over 5 months. Increasing the pace was necessary to give concrete answers to the expectations. Often avant-garde, the inhabitants were not lacking in imagination.
