House 2302 renovates a traditional farmhouse in the Baix Empordà with respect for its setting and heritage, while embracing a contemporary perspective. The architecture engages in dialogue with its surroundings, featuring open interiors and light-filled sequences rich in materiality.

The plot has a significant slope over most of its surface, with a difference in elevation between the front of the road (north boundary) and the back (south boundary) of approximately 17 meters. Access is through Atzavara Street, at the highest point of the plot (approx. elevation 180). The project includes having meters at street level (northeast corner). The house consists of a main volume (entrance to the house and night area), under which is the day area, fully connected and projected towards the outside (terrace and views), where the pool is located. The volume that forms the night area is understood as a rocky mass that shelters the main space of the house.

The House 1603 is a town home, with a structure of stone bearing walls and traditional elements typical of the Baix Empordà area. It is located in the heart of the small town of Begur, characterized by its mountainous landscape and its rocky beaches.

Inglés: The House is understood as a floating volume on the mountain. A space for contemplation that it’s opened to the views and to the garden simultaneously. The building is integrated to the landscape reducing its presence just to a concrete volume. The other elements are materialized with natural stone from the site, in that way, they can be read like if they come out from the land.

Guest House Pavilion 1401 / Nordest Arquitectura

The assigned project consisted in the construction of a guest pavilion as an extension of the main house. Our first thought was to create a shape clear and simple, a cuboid placed in the middle of the forest, changing as less as possible the surrounding characteristics, as if it had always been there.
