A solid white form that contrasts with its immediate surroundings. This is the principle behind the design of Casa Bosque, located on a narrow lot within a horizontal condominium of attached houses. This white canvas, being homogeneous, does not evoke the subjective mental image of a house and allows for an open perception of what is seen, offering a complete reading of the volume, without areas of concentration or elements that “pull” the eye. As artist Robert Ryman states, “white is merely a way to expose other elements, allowing other things to become visible.” By choosing this volume, the design begins with a unified concept where the design itself defines the flows and layouts contained within this rigid geometry.

Space and time, in the physical conception, are interdependent and inseparable forces. In architecture, this relationship is also symbiotic, as one cannot speak of architectural space without considering the various ways of perceiving and dealing with time. The design of Casa João e Maria starts from this premise, as the place of the residence, designed for a couple, is the same one where the owner was born and spent childhood with her parents, João and Maria. Therefore, the project sought to blend past and present, viewing time not as linear, but as a tangle of memories, moments and points of perception. This non-linearity is reflected in the space, appropriating the idea of multiple pathways by placing the circulation core in the center of the site, amidst the main courtyard of the house.

Located in a horizontal condominium in the city of Curitiba, Casa Vértice was designed on an unusual lot: a narrow front, approximately 11 meters, which opens in a “V” towards the back. Among the customers' requests, the most important was a large garden. With a defined program for the family, couple and two children, the projected volume was divided into two floors, with the objective of freeing up the maximum amount of sunny and private outdoor space.

Five houses occupy a corner lot in a residential neighborhood in Curitiba. Outside, the feeling is one of unity, since geometrically there are no divisions between the houses, and in terms of materiality the whole building was treated in the same way: white at the top and stone at the bottom. Only the gates mark the entrances.

Light and warmth were the first and most emphasized premises made by clients: a young couple with two daughters. Another request was great communication between the house and its gardens. The lot is located in a gated community in the Pilarzinho neighborhood, in an upper region of the northern area of Curitiba, next to large parks and green areas. It starts as a single block, which is stuck to the side limits of the lot and in the average elevation, to guarantee free space at the back, a minimum need for land movement, and a good elevation of the house because of the view. In this way, a modulation was created where the stairs and the hydraulic infrastructure are located to the center, leaving the ground floor open, allowing the use of a conventional and low-cost structure.
