The project is located in a corner of the Xiannv Lake Nature Reserve on the southwestern side of Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province, away from the hustle and bustle of the city and surrounded by hills, woods, fields, and a lake. The nature experience center is part of the overall resort design, providing visitors with nature experiences, public services, and a pristine living experience. The main design challenge was to achieve the function of a large volume of buildings while preserving the landscape and maintaining a low-intensity development of the natural ground.

Located in a community built in the 1980s on the county border of Fenyi, Jiangxi, the old house has been standing there for over forty years. Time stands still in the community while the world outside has undergone radical changes. The house had been extended mildly several times over the years, but it is left behind by the time and a huge disconnect appears between the interior space quality and modern life. Lack of daylight and poor ventilation in the interior pose relevant safety concerns for the house owner who is of old age. Thus, improving the quality of life in the old house within a limited budget is set to be the key target of the project.

MONOARCHI has completed four hot spring huts in the southeast corner of Tangshan Mountain in Nanjing. The 5,000sqm site is on a hill and has one side of stacked rocks, standing out as a solitary island from the woods. According to the geomorphic features of the site, the architect chose the four most distinctive locations to place the four huts, from hiding in the deep woods, to gradually transitioning into the stone-piled land.

The village rests on the edge of a secondary forest. a small river, dividing the village into two parts, slowly runs through from north to south. The tree house is located on the west bank of the lower stream. Two peaks facing to each other are standing on the east and the west sides of the site, where verdant bamboos are spread all over the hill, creating an amiable and tranquil atmosphere.

In Ming Dynasty in Hangzhou, China, a new way of teaching was invented to make education more free, open and closer to the nature, where teachers giving classes to students in a boat floating through the lotus and trees in the water. Today, Hangzhou Chovan Experimental School, inherited this local tradition from hundreds of years ago, aspired to create a new space to carry forward this spirit of education.

MONOARCHI is a young architecture design company based in Shanghai. The office is located at the core of the Former Shanghai French Concession. The original neighborhood is referred to the buildings Britain and Spain back in the 1940s. After more a hundred years of history, the neighborhood still retains the peace. As an important witness of the history of Shanghai, it is listed as a protective historical building. The existing neighborhood is a residential area, we, as architects who are obsessed with working in spaces with stories, renovated a building inside this neighborhood and moved in in 2018.
