The building is designed for a collective of private clients. Hidden behind an old factory wall in the city center on a plot of the former industrial area of Sphinx Porcelain. The name 'Les Mouleurs' is carved in stone above the main entrance. Named after the mold makers from the former porcelain factory that stood at this location. But it also symbolizes the way in which the building was constructed.

Martens Willems & Humblé Architects designed a social housing residential block with retail within the protected townscape of Vaals. A small border town in The Netherlands. How can a large residential block in the social housing sector, which will partly determine the image of the new Koningin Julianaplein, become a natural part of the protected village scape of Vaals?

A private house at the Klevarie site in Maastricht. Within the historic city walls, this was before an old monastery garden, later a hospital, and a nursing home. But always served as hidden green space for the site. In our urban plan for the site, we cherished this green space. The gate on the street functions as a 'pars pro toto' for this project. The charming modernist nursing home of the architect Schellinckx from 1962 still stands at the site. A unique modernist incident within the cityscape for Maastricht standards.
