With numerous setbacks and strict internal condominium regulations, the H+L HOUSE was conceived, among many challenges, from a highly detailed brief from the clients, who wanted to make the most of the site. One of the key requirements was to make extensive use of natural elements as a way to foster an intimate connection with nature, both indoors and outdoors: inside through prominent materials such as Moledo stone and wood, and outside through lush landscaping that can be seen from multiple angles throughout the spaces.

In the middle of a large environmental preservation park, a house in Ribeirão Preto – SP underwent a series of enhancements, resulting in an inspiring transformation. The architect, Mariana Orsi, who led the project, successfully decided to incorporate natural elements inspired by the house's surroundings, effectively turning it into an extension of the preservation park. Completed in April of this year, the project was developed around a conceptual architecture that prioritizes natural elements, fostering an intimate connection with nature while intensifying the relationship between interior and exterior spaces through new openings and abundant art.

Seeking to preserve the original elements of the residence, this retrofit allowed for a perfect dialogue between the contemporary proposal and the existing roots, both of the house and the village itself. We preserved the original structures and proposed demolitions for greater integration and brightness of the spaces.

Casa Beta was born during the 2020 pandemic, the result of a lot of natural inspiration. During this period, people looked for spaces in their own homes to decompress. Any contact with the outside world was the house's most coveted desire. Those who lived in apartments were frantically looking for a way to literally have their feet on the ground, on the land, in the water, with their face in the sun and nature within their minimal reach. Many left their apartments in search of a home with integrated spaces and directly connected to nature.
