"Norway tells" represents Norway in the Frankfurt book fair. The fair is the most important of its kind, and in 2019 Norway is the guest of honor.The competition asked to define a spatial concept as well as help in determining how the different activities related to Norway's contribution will be developed in the space.

Architect Sverre Fehn’s competition entry for the Scandinavian pavilion at the World Fair in Osaka 1970 is part of the Norwegian National Museum – Architecture’s collection. Fehn’s proposal of a breathing structure where images of Scandinavian nature was to be projected on the expanding and contracting walls did not win the competition and was never realized.

Pålsbu Hydro Power Station / Manthey Kula Architects

The building is located just below Pålsbufjorden dam, the uppermost of a series of reservoirs funnelling down to the power station at Nore. The new station generates clean power from the height difference between the old dam and the lake 15 meters below, exploiting an unused potential of the structure. From a sustainable point of view, optimising the output of existing dams instead of establishing new dams or power plants is an important contribution to the preservation of nature and its habitats.

The project is situated in Lofoten, along one of the National Tourist Routes in Norway. There are eighteen such routes in Norway, all chosen for their spectacular and characteristic landscape. The facilities for the tourists that drive along these roads; such as rest stops, viewing platforms and links to local points of interest are carried out by architects and landscape architects with the purpose of offering an experience of both nature and design. By now 6 routes already have Tourist Routes status and 12 more are in the planning. The project will be finished by 2016.
