The house is planned on a typical 60’ x 90’ parcel of land located in the northern peri-urban extents of Devanahalli, Bangalore. Designed for a family of four along with their three four-legged companions, the project attempts to create shared spaces for humans & animals alike while also seamlessly transitioning between indoor & outdoor. A major chunk of the site in the front & rear has been left open as gardens for the dogs to run around. The remainder has been divided into three linear blocks in the north-south direction: private, green + circulation & public.

The site is a typical 30’ x 50’ peri-urban parcel of land located in the south of Bangalore, Electronic city. Trapped on three sides by plots that eventually will have neighboring houses, only the front opens out to the road allowing for the provision of light & ventilation to the house. The idea was to ensure maximum availability of light and ventilation without negotiating the privacy of its inhabitants.

The weekend getaway home is located in Devanahalli, Bangalore, the northern outskirts of Bangalore, India which is currently sporadically developed. The site is an irregular portion of land measuring 4000 sq. ft, a corner plot flanked by gardens on three sides. Taking advantage of this the built mass is planned as an L abutting the road and forming a garden courtyard inwards. The idea was to feel connected to the sky and the trees and create a living within a garden typology. For which a major chunk of the ground floor has been left unbuilt to give a sense of seamless connection between the garden and greenery all around the site. Thus, lifting the built mass with most of its functions off the ground by 8’-0’ which also enhances the views.
