When my team and I visited the Vitamayor center, located in Bicentenario Park, we were struck by how much it felt like a home: a courtyard, a living room, meeting spaces, and a domestic scale that made it welcoming for visitors and harmonious with its surroundings. The project for Vitamayor II, commissioned by the Municipality of Vitacura, is located on the banks of the Mapocho River—a river that flows through the city of Santiago, shaping a sinuous way of living and a deep connection to nature. The project incorporates this variation and dialogue with a privileged riverbank setting, which historically supplied irrigation water for lands that, until recently, were agricultural fields.
