The house is placed on a hill between two streets and two houses. Its footprint was dictated by the location of the previous building. The transparency and natural light claim itself as a fundamental element in the project, allowing to see the river through the platan treetops.

For years, Porto Downtown was a day-time zone. This was the civic center and buildings were occupied by offices and comercial stores. The gentrification phenomenon made people move to cheaper zones, leaving housing buildings empty and a desert atmosphere at night.
