The El Prat Beachfront Promenade is part of the coastal area remaining after the construction of the final runway of the El Prat Airport in 2004. This area is designated to become the future Prat Coastal Park, which includes the Can Camins Pine Forest (a protected area), the space intended for a future Public Park (occupying the remainder of the El Prat Golf facilities), the CRAM (Marine Animal Recovery Center) facilities, and the Beachfront Promenade.
