The proposal originates from the commission for a more extensive series within the Puertos Escobar reserve, a vast anthropic-natural territory along the Correntino Stream. It is envisioned as an architectural intervention that deeply engages with this environment. The project consists of two structures positioned along the main road of the reserve. Each explores a specific spatial and relational condition concerning our interaction with the ecosystem.

Peaches Besares is a renovation and extension of a house in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Saavedra. The context is a neighborhood of low-rise houses and few consolidated buildings. The area is a mix of new and long-time residents who spend their days around one of the most active parks in the city, located just a few blocks away.

La Terencia is a beach refuge located in Balneario Los Ángeles, a small town near the City of Necochea, in the south of the Province of Buenos Aires. The exuberance of its landscape is proportional to the hostility of its inclement weather. The forests are transformed into dunes, the cliffs back to coves that merge with a series of perfect waves, with the same spontaneity with which a sunny day turns into a sandstorm.

La Soñada is a single-family home located in Chapadmalal, a small town near the city of Mar del Plata, in the southern part of the Province of Buenos Aires. It is a coastal enclave with a relaxed atmosphere, characterized by cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, extensive beaches, and dunes interspersed with native vegetation. The parcel distribution is organized among winding dirt roads and streams, with plots varying in size and constructed volumes scattered among large groves that shield them from the wind.

The 3X3 house is located on a lot between party walls in the lower part of San Isidro, its front has a south-southeast orientation, so the best sunlight conditions are at the back. Two other factors determine the position of the house, on the one hand, the flood level of the site forces it to rise one meter twenty above street level, on the other hand, the need to distance itself from the pedestrian path to guarantee a certain degree of privacy.

The land in front of the Bajo de San Isidro Ecological Reserve presents unique pre-existing conditions. A swimming pool, a product of being a subdivided portion of a larger lot, several old trees, including an olive tree, and the fact that it is one of the few places where the turtles that inhabit the reserve cross the road to spawn periodically. These factors, added to the lush presence of the reserve itself, provided the opportunity to formulate a project integrated with the surrounding ecosystem in multiple dimensions.

We will stand at an intermediate point of all the pairs of topics. From the reflection on the extremes, a cabin is defined by the position of 5 modules that solve the basic functions. The space between modules will be closed with a laminar element that will respond to climatic requirements. The modules functions will be: STORE, DRESS, COOK, HEAT, REST. They will have the technology embedded, in all cases they will have thermal and waterproof coating. They will incorporate a solar heating water system, a solar kitchen, a trombe wall, and "moser" solar lamps. All the components will be manufactured on site, and may have different levels of prefabrication. The latter will be defined in dialogue with the organizers during the month of developing proposals. After the summer camp, the skin is dismantled, the volumes are compacted and a truck is loaded for its next location.

This small apartment, residual product of the fragmentation of a property built in the 50s in the neighborhood of Chacarita, forms an “ochava” on the first floor with visuals as open to the outside as exposed to the curious look from the street. These three factors, added to the will of the client to inhabit a luminous and flexible space, determine the project strategy.

This apartment from the 60´s is located in Barrio Norte, one of the most densely populated zones of Buenos Aires City, was responding to particular criteria of a high-rise housing in a socio-economic context that has moved its center of gravity. The distribution of spaces, according to the prevailing social protocols, offered a segmented to be redefined plan.The intervention focuses on two overlapping actions: integration and qualification.

Its position in the lot guarantees the best solar incidence range on the north side, on which all the main rooms of the house are laid out. On the other hand, it provides a form of processional visual approach to its visitors.

Silvina and Omar's house used to be one among the typical vernacular models in the metropolitan area of Buenos Aires. Silent as to its urban insertion, simple and compact in its layout on a single level, releasing a portion of the lot to the back, a flat roof directly related to the tops of the neighboring trees and dense vegetation at the back.

Quintana 4598 / IR arquitectura

Quintana 4598, at the corner of Calle Arias, is a building of 12 functional units. The structure is modular, easily implemented and flexible. There are three apartments per floor in which the bathroom, kitchen, storage, closet and bedroom space are organized in a "furniture" format, as a piece attached sideways to the larger space. The specific programs take advantage of the 3m height and are condensed by a superposition in this structure. This operation provides a large volume of air to the dynamic area of the house.
