For I.HOUSE, each project is a creative process of ideas, technical solutions and harmonization with the needs of homeowners. In particular, finding design ideas is the first step and is always aroused from the characteristics of the local culture, the unique points of the natural environment. The inspiration for this villa also comes from the idyllic, gentle and graceful but also very special of the bamboo bush next door. In Vietnamese culture, bamboo is very close, they grow in bushes with many vertical and regular stems, this is the main idea for us to design this detached villa.

The townhouse is a very special and popular type of house in Vietnam. This type of house is mostly rectangular in shape, with a much smaller width than the length. The townhouse has only one facade, the remaining three sides are adjacent to neighbors and often used as a business or a combination of business and accommodation. Our project is also such a townhouse.

This house is located on the outskirts of Hung Yen province. Facing an arteryconnecting provinces and bordering a local road, the residence stretches on an idealland area with 8.6m in width and 26,8m in length. Bringing several advantages, thisgeographical feature, at the same time, presents the architects with certain challengessuch as fume, dust and noise from the roads when designing the house. Taking theseenvironmental drawbacks into consideration, we decided to leave the first 11 meters infront of the house for a playground and a parking space, offsetting the adverse impactscreated by the above factors on the house. The green of plants and flowers is optimizedto put the house back into nature, balancing with the rough look of bricks and concretesand also to immerse the residents in green spaces.

Situated on Tran Dai Nghia Street, Hanoi, the house lies in a lovely and tranquil alley. 5.4 meters in width and 20.3 meters in length, the house, with two open views at the front and back, overlooks a tree-filled university campus. Such an area, in the urban district, is ideal for creating a living space for a whole family.

Optimizing the home owner's aesthetic personality and bringing more green and most relaxing space are the criteria set out for the architects. Based on a current land-site that is cramped and limited in size (90sqm/floor), the architects have used a variety of solutions from creating floor-through space, omitting unnecessary rooms/space, fully maximizing the beautiful views of the urban township and laying unique green parts (garden stands).

The house is located not too deep in a rather quiet lane on the outskirts of Saigon. Like many houses in Vietnam, it has constantly exposed to the bustling surroundings as dust, heat, noise etc. Because of these factors, the house owner (also active in designing industry) pretty much sharing with us in a decision to make the more active space would be inward - "introverted" to build the core with buffer spaces of green trees. In other words, the open space is the highest priority in the designing process for the family's generations to interact with each other.
