From a bird’s-eye view, the layout of the clubhouse at the Kácov golf course is reminiscent of the leg of a giant golfer. The landscape along the River Sázava captivated investors so much that they decided to build a meeting place for fans of golf. The clubhouse that we worked on is the architectural centerpiece of a beautiful golf course.

The investor wished for an extension to his farmhouse in Southern Bohemia, one that he could rest and relax in – a lookout and an observatory. We extended the volume of one of the wings of the building with a semi-transparent wooden structure made out of spruce and larch timber. In terms of articulation of form, the extension is in complete harmony with the original farmhouse. In terms of structure, however, the transparent timber frame, along with its zen atmosphere, is a complete contrast.

The administration of the forest of the town of Pisek held a competition for a new operational building on a beautiful site at the edge of the forest; sloping to the south, it has a splendid view. Our foresters’ lodge is a box sliced in half by the hallway and its charm lies in the way that all of the outer layers of the building are wrapped around it: the linear winter gardens and the slanting shade-awnings.

Jára Cimrman is a fictitious Czech national giant. He excelled in many roles - as an inventor, scientist, playwright, poet, composer, artist, teacher, traveler, philosopher, detective, mathematician, pilot, sportsman and dentist. In his case, you can hardly find a profession that he has not made a radical contribution to.
