A small, detached house in an open fjord landscape, surrounded by fields and residential buildings. The homeowner wanted an extension of the house and outdoor areas that were more sheltered from wind and insight from a busy footpath on the seaside of the property.

The house is located on a wide plain by the coast of the North Sea. An old log house forms the core of a new detached house for a young family with small children.

The cabin in the woods is inspired by reading Henry Thoreau´s "Walden Pound". Architectural design is closely related to old farmhouses from the local valleys. The central room is dominated by a large fireplace and large room height. It opens onto the sun and lake views.

Renovation and extension of 150 years old timber house in the center of Stavanger city. The timber walls were preserved, even though they once had been charred by fire. The burned surface is retained to give character to the interiors. The architect-designed genuine moldings for the house.

The house is situated on a hilltop above a large, rushing river. The main view is towards an old industrial area along the east side of the river and towards Kristiansand in the south.

The site is located in a farmers field of 10.000 m2 in the middle of an agricultural countryside 15 km south of Stavanger. The fields surrounding the houses are used as pastures for cheep. The terrain enclosing the houses and courtyard is shaped like grassy slopes. The slops enclose both houses and patios. In this way, warm outdoor spaces are created in an otherwise windy landscape. The site itself is bordered with a continuous stone row.
