The Paseo la Plaza has always captivated us locals for its enigmatic urban space, whose language empathizes with the collective imaginary of the heterogeneous nature of a city, especially one like Buenos Aires. As its name suggests, the prevailing emptiness, air, and vegetation literally illustrate the identity of the square. Its alleys of cobblestones surround the theaters and each building has an identity that clearly emulates an old village. It is in this unique attribute so valued by the consumer that we analyze how we can integrate a new identity. An identity that should keep "Paseo la Plaza: The Square" as the main protagonist and "Manduca Market" as its necessarily integrated market.

In order to do so, we looked for concepts of the spirit of traditional British taverns, without falling into typical resources, nor losing the focus of the idea of a classic European restaurant with a contemporary artistic touch.

The project has been influenced by modern, neutral and industrial details. The neutrality is given by the balance of its materials and its shades of white. All its materials have been used in a bitonal balance of black and white, except for details in corrugated aluminium and the black rubber floor. From the beginning we understood that the brand is, as its name indicates ( Fresco means Fresh in spanish ), a place whose identity is marked by the nature of its simple materials, its fresh and natural products as well. From this reflection we have suggested to implement a nature of alive presence and prominent avoiding to fall in the use of static nature. This nature is form and function in all its interventions, they work as a light system and as an active landscape in several of its bars.

From the outset, the project had to appeal to the aesthetic dissociation of the typical beer bar. The challenge was to create a new aesthetic universe associated with the cocktail bars but without forgetting the impressive brand of 30 taps, emphasizing the idea of the largest beer bar in Buenos Aires. The conceptual idea incorporates elements distant from the reminiscences known by bars of these characteristics.

Unknown and fantastic lands made us think of precious stones. Their faceted surfaces inspired us to create a construction system. Those rocks, which blind us with their glows and crystal-like textures, are diamonds from another world.

Starting off from the idea of recreating the spirit of the traditional Buenos Aires groceries without resorting to clichés, we worked with the materiality of what to us best reflects this kind of store: the wooden box for groceries. The sheer simplicity of this single element can generate spatiality both by addition and subtraction. The result attempts to describe this spirit, which was built by the abstraction of these elements. In short: constructing the decoration without decorating the construction.

From the beginning, this project had to respond to two different voices, ie two clients. Both required the same amount of square meters in their future homes. It is perhaps the greatest achievement of this project, to have understood how to complete the entire buildable volume equally for both owners, without any of them losing access to almost the entire size of the lot, in width and length. This required a strategy that consisted of distributing crosswise the area that corresponded to both, so that both units rotate through the axis of the central courtyard like a centrifuge. To achieve cross-connection of both properties without losing m2, we decided to "externalize" the stairs, as if they were bridges connecting the two units.

The project is located in the southern part of the city of Buenos Aires, precisely in Parque Patricios, a neighborhood that is being promoted as a technological pole. This characteristic motivated the client to start the construction of a building that unfolds into two separate volumes, his home and an office for his business. Both buildings have in common constructive and material decisions, however they show a strong formal contrast. In addition, the two volumes meet sustainable conditions: ventilated facades, reuse of rainwater and FCS certified wood (OSB).
