K's Veranda, the latest chapter in the story of K's Charcoal in Ahmedabad, embodies the spirit of Hiren Patel Architects + Design (HPAD) — crafting spaces that breathe, balance, and belong. What once was a lively, open lawn beside the restaurant has blossomed into a soulful retreat. Here, walls seem to melt into the landscape, and the indoors drift effortlessly into the open air. It doesn't read as an addition, but as a graceful evolution, carrying the familiar warmth and comfort of its predecessor, yet whispering in its own quiet voice.

Architecture is more than just constructing spaces; it is about shaping experiences and crafting environments that reflect individuality while addressing the nuances of daily life. For Hiren Patel Architects (HPA), this philosophy has been a guiding force since its inception in 1989. Founded by Ar. Hiren Patel, the firm has consistently redefined architectural boundaries, weaving together art, design, and functionality to create spaces that resonate deeply with those who inhabit them.

Surat, a thriving hub of commerce and culture in Gujarat, has steadily transformed into a city that balances tradition with rapid modernization. Known for its bustling textile industry and diamond trade, it is a city of resilience, innovation, and growth. Amidst this vibrant backdrop, Amoeba, a groundbreaking office project by Hiren Patel Architects, emerges as a beacon of contemporary design that integrates seamlessly with the natural environment. As an over 8000 sq ft masterpiece, the space does more than just house corporate operations—it reimagines what an office can be. The project's organic, free-flowing design is fresh air in the architectural landscape, where rigid structures often dominate.

A design that unites form, functionality, and aesthetics to create a holistic living experience in perfect synergy with nature. Situated on the outskirts of Ahmedabad, Anandvan is a refreshing ode to the delicate balance of functionality, privacy, and aesthetic beauty. This home to the family of 5, encircled by a lush green verdant on three sides is thoughtfully designed to enrich the lives of its inhabitants by offering a sanctuary where form, functions and nature come together in harmony. Its architecture is a reflection of a deep-rooted philosophy that places equal emphasis on human comfort and the natural environment to create spaces where humans can thrive. Anandvan's integration of water and foliage, strategic orientation to promote functionality and climatic comfort, and raw yet balanced aesthetics intend to serve as a benchmark in holistic design for architects and homeowners.

Amidst the changing landscape of Ahmedabad, now transitioning to a concrete jungle, a timeless respite under the scorching sun, Under The Neem Tree beckons the soul. Designed as a one-of-a-kind restaurant, this project is conceptualized by Hiren Patel Architects. It stands true to the local Ahmedabadi style, responding to the climate, culture, and context with its unique flair. Sprawling over 6750 sqft across a single storey, this space weaves its narrative through its interconnectedness and materiality. Each turn along the path makes for a view to pause and behold before proceeding into the heart of this space. Right at the entrance, a serene water body, reminiscent of the step-wells, welcomes you inside. Flanked on either side by covered pathways, it feels like walking into the veranda of an Ahmedabadi pol house.

The house is designed with prime focus with landscape . This is a first climate oriented house plan. It has a summer garden and a winter garden. Here the plan forms "Z". Thus it creates two garden space on south side and north side, The south side garden is designed like a "forest " to help tree plantations to creat shadows on the building . This used of garden gets sun in morning till late evening , thus ideal to use in winter. Where north side garden has more lawn area , which has shadow of building in afternoon and evening . It gets good morning sun and than later part of a day is shaded . Thus it become summer garden. Ideal to use in hot and summer days.

The courtyard house is designed with a grid of 7’x7’. The house has been designed in such a way hat all the living spaces and passage face open space and garden, which was also the main design concept since its inception, thus creating a central courtyard which holds the reflection pool making it a major design element. This also makes the design an introvert one, leaving garden at backside but still visible and accessible from all the rooms of house.
