The building of Mlynica is part of a large post-industrial area of Light Building Materials in Bratislava. Since 1960s, porous prefabricated concrete blocks, slabs and panels have been produced here. Production took place until 1992. After privatization, the new owners sold off the complex and a gradual disintegration of the structures began.

In the spring of 2013 we started working on the refurbishment of an apartment within a functionalist building designed by the architect Clement Šilinger in 1928, located in the city centre of Bratislava. We were working with a simple brief, to transform a four-room apartment into a multi functional space for art, working and a good turntable with sound system.

The house is located in Devín, a village near the capital Bratislava. Narrow and long parcel, a traditional historical setting in this part of Slovakia ends on a boarder of a castle Devín. House will be occupied by a senior couple. They are moving here after their children grown up and left home.
