The holistic concept of the project revolves around the ethos and ideals of Iceland. We wanted to capture the essence of Iceland without being stereotypical. The weather in Iceland is a very real and prominent feature in the land and we classified this as static (the island) and forever changing (the weather). These dynamic changes are what we wanted to capture in the project. The static island of Iceland stands still in comparison to the constantly evolving and adapting weather but this influences the perception of the island.

With Hagius, the two brothers Nicolas and Timothy Hagius set out to create a sports studio in which mind and body are ultimately connected. The 600 m2 space located in a historic post office from 1902, was completely restored by Gonzalez Haase AAS in neutral interiors that mute the noise of modern-day.

For the second Berlin branch of Aera – a gluten-free bread manufacturer and café located at Rosenthaler Platz – the architecture duo Gonzalez Haase AAS designed a space that takes full advantage of its prominent location by being impossible to overlook. The entire depth of the new store is made visible through a large storefront window, allowing its rich Lapis Lazuli blue interior to take centre stage.

The MDC next door beauty and concept store is designed as a cabinet of curiosities for everyday objects, boasting a cheerful display of thoughtfully curated items and in-house collaborations.

The new Bureau Borsche is located in a quintessential Munich residential building with commercial units on the ground floor. In March 2019, Gonzalez Haase AAS took on the renovation, refurbishment and spatial redesign of the 315 sqm office space. The architects were given no limits in terms of design.

AAS’ BAM office is located in the middle of the city, in Kreuzberg, and takes place in the beautiful and bold new building designed by BCO Architects. BAM took over from the back building the ground floor with the garden and the first floor with a total of 246sqm space interiors. Each of the 2 floors is made of a consistent long rectangle room taking the whole plot of the building.
