The possibility of social engagement as well as segregation is equally offered. This general pretension to the children’s space is overlaid with the specific site requirements such as noise protection (for the neighbourhood) and the particular topographic situation.

Essentially, the small house for two people consists of one living floor between fair-faced concrete slabs, which cantilever far towards the west. Its immediate environment is characterised by agriculture; the view over orchards, pastures and copses up to the Plabutsch hills west of Graz scarcely indicates the proximity of a large town. The cantilevering volume rests on a basement which is partly carved into the hill. The ceiling of this storey is both entrance and parking area, sheltered with a porch roof that is planted with greenery.

The lecture hall building of the University for Mining and Metallurgy of Leoben was planned and constructed in the early 1970s altogether in line with modernistic and functionalistic architectural thinking. It is part of a building complex consisting of several faculty buildings, workshops and laboratories organised along an access tract and connected with existing buildings from the 19th century but otherwise insensitive to the urban context.
