Avenida Chapultepec is one of the most important and historic avenues in Mexico City. Once a calm Pre-Hispanic road that ran along the city's aqueduct, Avenida Chapultepec is now high-speed avenue, "negligent to its context and historic richness." Thus, FR-EE / Fernando Romero EnterprisE, FRENTE arquitectura and RVDG arquitectura + urbanismo have joined forces to propose a pedestrian-centric masterplan that aims to transform the congested avenue into an efficient, multimodal roadway that features an elevated promenade lined with commercial and cultural programs that are powered by renewable energy and connected by lush landscaping. Fernando Romero EnterprisE (FR-EE) has revealed their proposal for the “Museo Mazatlán” in Mexico, which will be dedicated to the local culture of Mazatlán. Inspired by Mazatlán’s nickname, “The Pearl of the Pacific”, the design resembles an oyster with a pearl at its centre. This “pearl” is a geodesic dome, bringing together views of the sky with views of the city and sea.

The Bridging Teahouse by FR-EE is one of the 17 pavilions in JinHua Architecture Park in the city of Jinhua, China. The park is located in the Jindong New District, a new area masterplanned by Herzog & de Meuron since 2003. Designed by the well-known Chinese artist Ai Weiwei, the park is set by the city’s Jiwu river on a strip of land some 2km long and dedicated to the memory of his father, the poet Ai Qing.Small pavilions designed by architects from all over the world occupy the land, together forming an important part of the development of the new district, while as unique entities they appeal to a range of people.
