The city's new hall. The Cordoba Exhibition, Fair, and Convention Center must be able to offer the city its most representative meeting space: a grand, flexible venue that can accommodate a wide variety of events. In this way, the vast volume of the interior space is set to become a new secular basilica in which the city recognizes itself.

With the demolition of the old Colombino Stadium, the city of Huelva was left with a large rectangular void that called for significant urban decisions. The results of a highly attended ideas competition led to planning the area as a combination of a central park and a perimeter of residential and community facilities, the latter with jagged and imprecise boundaries. The ideas competition for the Health Center, held much later, was to lead to the construction of the first of these buildings, while the park was still not even designed.

Located on the southwestern edge of Dos Hermanas, Avenida de la Libertad still features some large plots where zoning is restricted to single-family detached homes. A legacy of a past that populated this area with "villas," current regulations even suggest preserving, if possible, any mature, healthy pre-existing plant species.
