The Reforma Tapiales project is located in the Municipality of Vicente López, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. The unit to be renovated is situated in a building representative of the Argentine Modern Movement of the 1960s. A young couple of designers decided to renovate an old, deteriorated apartment to use as both a home and a workspace. The design premise was to link these two functions so that both activities could coexist in the same space without disrupting each other.

The essence of the project lies in creating an introspective home; carefully preserving views by intentionally opening them toward controlled spaces to achieve privacy while allowing nature to coexist inside the house. The design process was approached from a playful perspective, exploring various morphological proposals to provide a functional response to the program of uses, with special attention to spatial relationships and coexistence with the surrounding environment.

The PH Piedras project, an old building from the early 20th century, came to our studio through a client/investor who, conscious of the architecture that gave Buenos Aires its identity, wished to renovate an old PH apartment in the San Telmo neighborhood.
