The guesthouses have been built in the area called Bartina of Szekszárd, Hungary located south of Szekszárd-Séd, next to family cellars and wine houses. The units of the building complex are scattered on the 9,000 square meters of the plots. The plots are located in a transitional area of the city structure: close to the city center and the structure of the streets formed naturally, however, they are not an integral part of it, nor are they among the larger vineyards with their own character in the outskirts of the city. The buildings are looking to create their own identity inside this transitional zone.

Territories of the Danube-Ipoly National Park (DINP) encompassing mountains, river valleys and plains spread out also in the vicinity of Budapest. DINP opened a new visitor center in Pilisszentiván, near the center of the settlement.. The task was to provide a solution considering the natural fit into a residential village area and the function of a characteristic public facility. As a concept of extension, a new skin of wooden slat structure frames the extant white plastered core.

This residential project was realized on an interesting site in the outskirts of Budapest. The underground water reservoir of Pest is located right behind the plot, and on one side we find a public park. This ensures that the environment stays natural for the long term, in an otherwise dense residential area.

The unique form of the house developed quite early in the process, due to the strict constraints by regulations. On a narrow corner plot, with the maximized height and areas, the roof was the only place where, with a small twist, the otherwise unusable attic became a spacious room with a bathroom.

The project was the refurbishment of one of Budapest’s busiest downtown transport hubs, and the most visited public square on the Buda side. Due to the strict order of tramlines and roads, the main architectural and landscaping goal was to clean up and rationalize the inner parts, making the square a pedestrian priority public space with as many green areas as possible, in a way that does not interfere with the transferring crowd. The placement of the resting areas, filled with shrubs, trees, fountains and benches is based on an analysis of the crowd movement, providing the shortest route for each transfer and utilizing the least loaded patches, while leaving the heavy connections empty.

Community life and internal silence. The building that we can walk around, and the hall where music surrounds us. The building itself is vivid, moved by the dynamic symmetry of golden ratio. The hall itself is tranquillity filled by the symmetry of intellectual serenity.
