On a plot in the suburban town centre of De Pinte near Ghent, Villa Aan De Bocht presents itself as a generous single-family house on two floor levels with a long fairly closed north facing street facade and a strict rhythm of window openings on the different elevations. However, Villa Aan De Bocht accommodates three interlocked houses, each with its own front door on the facade and its own private outside space.

The building plot is situated in a typical Flemish residential development with detached single-family houses that almost monotonously follow the building regulations of rectangular building volumes in reddish brick and gabled roofs of ceramic roof tiles.

The house is centrally positioned on the building plot at the edge of a residential neighbourhood and opposite a small forest. An explicit orientation to the sun shapes the tripartite composition of the house. Three gardens formally complement the composition, each garden intended for a specific time of day: morning, afternoon, evening.
