THE KYEOL Clinic is conceived as a modern interpretation of Korean aesthetics, offering a calm and refined atmosphere through natural materials, restrained details, and a focus on spatial stillness. Located within a 58-pyeong (191 m²) interior, the clinic was designed for a client seeking a space that expresses Korean identity without relying on luxury or ornamentation. The site required a balance between functionality as a dermatology clinic and the brand's desire to create a serene, culturally rooted environment. The main challenge was to build a contemporary medical space that still conveyed traditional sensibilities while maintaining openness and simplicity.

Episode 1. SINSA Building Renovation and Extension / Design Studio Mono

The building is located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul's representative commercial district. The surrounding area was a form of coexistence of residential and commercial facilities. Prior to the design, we thought about various aspects such as the possibility of the site, the sustainability of the construction, and the environmental issues of the construction waste.

Design Studio Mono is an interior design company that creates a space with a story based on the belief that space changes the stayer's thoughts and behaviors. We hoped that the new office wanted to be a place where people can think and communicate more freely. For this change, we tried to create a new space containing the value of freedom according to Mono's design philosophy.
