The leisure home that the architect designed for her family in a sophisticated countryside gated community has become, over time, her calling card and a reference for her design language, inaugurating a rich series of projects aligned with this lifestyle. Situated on a plateau slightly below street level, the construction avoided earthmoving. The impact is of a different kind: entering, passing through the interior garden filled with natural light, and noticing, ahead, the living room doors opening to the veranda, to the infinity pool, and, finally, to the landscape in the background. Inspired by a trip to Israel, Deborah used yellow quartzite (pedra madeira) to bring some of the typical texture of Middle Eastern constructions to her home.

Determined to commission a faithful replica of a project by Deborah they had seen published in a magazine, the clients came to understand, through conversations with the architect, the pleasure of creating a bespoke design. Smaller and with a steeper slope, the plot had nothing in common with the reference house, not to mention the differences in climate, sun exposure, and program.

Owning a home bordering a golf course in a luxury gated community in the countryside of São Paulo was the dream of a golfer and his family, brought to life in this project by architect Deborah Roig. However, before defining the design of the residence, she had to address the challenges of the lot, the last one available in the area. Triangular in shape and with a narrow entrance, the site suffered from unfavorable sun exposure. In addition, the neighborhood was already fully developed, with surrounding homes blocking the views to the front.
