The site is located adjacent to the sand dunes between Dungeness and Greatstone-on-Sea in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It lies at a bend in the long seafront road at the end of a strip of beachfront detached houses dating from the mid-20th century to today.

The former North London Postal sorting offices were housed in three large Edwardian red brick buildings mostly hidden from view behind the surrounding Georgian streets and squares. The Grade II listed Post Office fronting Upper Street becomes one of two main pedestrian entrance routes through to a grand central tree-lined boulevard at the core of the development from which many of the commercial functions and residential upper parts are reached.

CZWG was commissioned by Maggie’s to design a new cancer care centre in Nottingham to serve the East Midlands Cancer Network. It is set on a wooded slope in the grounds of Nottingham City Hospital Campus, between the Oncology Department and the Breast Unit.

In response to Southwark Councils brief, CZWG’s key challenge was to design a space which would accommodate the distinctly different requirements of the main users groups - adults, children and young persons in a building where the floor area required for the library space was far larger than the available footprint for the building on the given site.
