        <![CDATA[<p>The brief for the closed competition held in 2011 to design the new headquarters for AABB Santos presented a major initial challenge. The complete replacement of the old headquarters—a modernist project designed in 1961 by Octávio Conceição Paiva and Otacílio Rodrigues Lima, built by Arthur Guilherme Martinelli, and inaugurated in 1973—was necessary because the building had been completely altered by successive renovations and adaptations over the years, which ultimately compromised its original installations and structures. Additionally, the steady decline in membership, which consists entirely of active and retired Banco do Brasil employees, highlighted the need for the association to adapt to the new economic and social reality of clubs in the region.</p>]]>
