By transforming two floors of a building into a single residence, our goal was to emphasize the private outdoor area and give the residents the feeling of living in a house. The project involved a complete transformation of the original layout of the two apartments. Converted into a duplex, the new apartment features a cubic volume for the new staircase, the main point of circulation. Installed in front of the entrance door, it guides visitors toward the social spaces of the home, which were redistributed along the sides and rear. The new programmatic arrangement was designed to prioritize the view of the garden along the side and back, where the pool is located, reversing the original layout of the apartment, which previously faced the street.

Located on a corner lot in a tree-lined residential area of São Paulo, the project was based on an existing building: a one-story house from the 1940s, initially planned for demolition due to its state of preservation.

Casa FVB is located in Trancoso, a region of beautiful beaches, in Bahia, Brazil.
The land of 1500 m2, despite not overlooking the sea, has his back facing a wonderful golf course. The beach house project should distribute an extensive program in the narrow and long terrain, with many limits of retreats for being a corner lot, privileging the quality of outdoor living.
