This is a complex institution composed of Multipurpose Theatre, Library, Local Museum, and Community Center, which maximizes the merit of compounding four different programs. Each of four zones is connected by a circulation corridor named "Cross Street".

This is a complex institution composed of Multiporpose Transforming Theater, Library and Community Center. Originally, this project had two sites sandwiching a road. We combined sites by placing an indoor “Gathering Steet” which gives access to each function. Its fissure like form lets sunlight into the deep center of the building.

Located in a district famous for railway industry in Niigata city, Akiha Ward Cultural Center is a 3000m2 public theater with 496 seats. This building is designed to be the cultural incubator for the locals who have long-waited for it.

Located in Ofunato, a town on the distinctive Sanriku Kaigan coastline of Iwate prefecture in northeastern Japan, Ofunato Civic Center and Library is a cultural building complex which consists of a main hall with 1100 seats, a library, multi-purpose spaces, an atelier, a tea room, and a studio. In its development, regional workshops and fieldwork have been organized by more than 50 times to make communication among architects, local residents and public officers.
