The East Courtyard is located in Qidong, Jiangsu, near the city and facing the sea. Commissioned by children who work away from home year-round, Benzhe Architecture rebuilt this residence for their parents, who are over sixty. It uses modern design language to respond to new rural construction—preserving rural simplicity while improving the quality of living. Qidong is located on the north wing of the Yangtze River estuary, where the Yangtze unloads its last mouthful of sediment and turns to flow into the East China Sea. The original site was a typical fishing village homestead, surrounded by arrays of wind turbines and tidal flat landscapes.

A Sail on the Vast Sea is located within the EKA Tianwu Art District in the Jinqiao area of Pudong New District, Shanghai. The original site was Building 442, known as "Maritime Home," part of the China Shipbuilding Navigation Instrument Factory from the 1950s and 1960s. The project was commissioned by the owner for a comprehensive planning and renovation design. Positioned near the entrance of the park, just south of "Bancang," the building welcomes visitors with the form of a raised "sail." Rooted in the spirit of navigation and expressed through a strong and forceful writing style, the project seamlessly integrates art and functionality within the public spaces. The interplay of old and new honors the present while looking towards the future.

The Power Workshop is located in the EKA Art District in Jinqiao, Pudong New Area, Shanghai. It was originally the equipment and power workshop, Building 462, China Shipbuilding Naval Instrumentation Factory (CSNIF) in the 1950s and 1960s. Commissioned by the owner, we carried out the overall planning and renovation design of the area. In the renewal and revitalization of the building as the core of the park, it’s necessary not only to respect the history and preserve the original cultural memory as much as possible, but also to meet the needs of contemporary business, lifestyle, and other multi-functional business, which means that new vitality was to be injected into the old building, and a dialogue that transcends time and space was to be initiated.

BANCANG is located in EKA-Tianwu Park in Jinqiao District, Pudong New Area, Shanghai. The site was originally the warehouse of CSSC Marine Instrument Co., Ltd. in Shanghai - Warehouse 445 in the 60s. The overall planning and renovation design of the area was conducted as commissioned by the owner. As a pioneer renovation project in the park, it should not only have commercial reception and exhibition functions but also reflect the prospect of the park in the future. We respect the historical development and put the current sustainable development concept into it, integrating the old and the new parts to arouse the old buildings.
