For over ten years the municipality of Krumbach pursued a very committed construction program, which essentially concerned the structural development of the village center. The rectory is seen as a preliminary ‘milestone’ in this process. In its function as a cultural and multipurpose building, the rectory plays an important role in Krumbach’s public life, reinforced by its spatial presence in the in the village square. Inside the building, a parish hall (small village hall), the parish office with rectory as well as a library and the rehearsal room for the music club and choir. The diverse range of uses provides additional vitalization and attractiveness for Krumbach’s village center.

A typical neighborhood, like any other neighborhood in Vorarlberg's Rhine Valley, characterizes the environment of the new building. All this are visible signs of an urban sprawl. Faceless places built with scattered settlements and single- family homes are signs of an emerging urbanization and densification of the Rhine Valley.

Tiwag Power Station Control Center / Bechter Zaffignani Architekten

The new building for the power station control centre of Tiroler Wasserkraft AG in Silz is a massive, tower-like, free-standing building. The dominant building on the site was and still remains the old turbine building. Various additions reduced the impact made by this building, with the result that the high-energy processes on the power station site were no longer externally legible. Through the formal idiom it employs the new building attempts to depict these processes.
